Group dances - yes or no?

Some clients have had VERY strong feelings about group dances lately: "ABSOLUTLEY NO CHICKEN DANCE!!!"

We understand. Some may think these songs are "hokey" and stupid, but the reality is that some of the best known standards, like the original Electric Slide, will get a crowd up and moving! People are comfortable doing a dance with specific steps. They don't feel as self conscious getting on the dance floor if a bunch of other people are doing the same thing they are.

Yes, flapping your arms like a chicken may not be the most appropriate thing to do at a super formal event - but it sure could be fun! And those that hate it, can head to the bar or the bathroom for 2 1/2 minutes. :)

CURRENT MOST REQUESTED GROUP DANCES:
1. Electric Slide
2. Cha Cha Slide
3. Cotton Eyed Joe
4. YMCA

Sadly the Macarena has fallen from this list..........ah the good ole days

Back to School!

It's that time of year again: the weather is getting cooler and the Halloween candy is already on shelves, which could only mean one thing...back to school!

Music Mania would like to wish all students the best in the upcoming year and look forward to seeing you at your dances, picnics and other events!

Cake Cutting Song

Of course the traditional "Bride Cuts the Cake" is still one of the most popular songs to play for a cake cutting, some brides and grooms are looking for "something different".

Here are some suggestions for alternate cake cutting songs:

Sugar, Sugar (The Archies)
How Sweet It Is (James Taylor)
Sugar Pie Honey Bunch (The Four Tops)
When I'm 64 (The Beatles)
In My Life (The Beatles)
Grow Old With You (Adam Sandler)
It Had to Be You (Harry Connick, Jr.)
When You're Smiling (Dean Martin)
